I’ve been asked privately by several of my blog readers why I have been radio silent for the last two months and have not published anything since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Frankly, I didn’t know what Wisdom to share. I didn’t know what to say that would not be trite or banal.  This has been a devastating experience for most of us.

In fact, unimaginable.

The whole business/work/personal paradigm has changed. And will not come back the way we knew it. It’s our version of The War of the Worlds where we are being invaded by an alien species.

I am a realist and I believe we are ‏‏experiencing a brave new world. And this new world is fraught with uncertainty and fear of the unknown. The world was caught by surprise. Us included.

So what do we do?

And I mean ‘we’ because we are all in the same boat together. This pandemic is an equal opportunity Mother. Rich, poor, young, old, we are all affected by its ravaging presence.

There is an old Yiddish expression that goes:  “Man plans and God laughs”.

This sure caught us all off guard.

Here’s my stance.

I for one, will roll with the punches because I know intuitively that change is always good (even if we don’t like it).

Why?

1. Because we are pushed out of our comfort zone.

2. We get to experience new situations which allow us to expand our capabilities.

3. We get to examine and test who we really are.

So my friends, it ain’t the ‘same old same old’. We must be more flexible while embracing our new reality.

From my experience, those who don’t accept the change are doomed to lives of unhappiness and hopelessness.
